The Grid News published an incredible investigative report featuring Moonlight Foundation on the funding of U.S. Congressional candidates that have supported the conspiracy-rich, sometimes-violent movement known as QAnon.
An analysis conducted by Moonlight Foundation found that more than 15 billionaires and mega millionaires had donated to candidates who had supported the QAnon movement. Many of these individuals have previously donated to mainstream Republican candidates and PACs.
Tracking the funding of these Congressional candidates suggests a shift in the normalization of fringe movements in U.S. politics. The implications of this shift will be felt in the midterm elections and for decades to come.
